Name contest for sixth dolphin baby

Dolphin Academy Curaçao was very happy and proud to report that on Christmas day, December 25th 2008 the dolphin family was further extended with the birth of a sixth baby.

Half brothers and sisters Papito, Li-Na, Chabelita, Kayena en Tikal preceded him.

Dolphin Tela gave birth to her little boy around 4.30 am in the company of the animal care staff. Mother and son are doing well. Now that the baby has successfully lived through his first month of life, his survival chances increased, although the first year of a baby dolphin always remains a challenging time. The little boy was a second generation baby. Mother Tela was born in 2000 at R.I.M.S. in Roatán Honduras out of parents Rita and Esteban. They are now grandparents.
