Festive Days at Dolphin Academy

The days between september 18 and 21 were filled with laughter, fun, dancing and celebrations at the Dolphin Academy Curaçao. Thursday September 18th the funnybone of the dolphins was tickled, when the gentlemen of the Comedy Explosion came to pick up some inspiration prior to their show at Brakkeput MeiMei. The members of "Comedy Collectief" of the Netherlands were accompanied during their Dolphin Swim by dolphins Annie and Tela. They enjoyed amusing the comedians. Rushing Brio and winner of the Leids cabaret festival; Samba Schutte, experienced a dream come true. Established name Valstar made his children jealous and comedylegend Vincent Geers were totally charmed simply by the two ladies. During the show on Saturday september 20th allot of `anecdotes' were presented about the dolphin visit.

On friday it was the time for the last treeplanting in celebration of our six-year-old existence. This time it was the Glorieux College's turn. Since it was the local customary Siman di Kultura (Culture Week), the treeplanting was celebrated musically with traditional dances and music of Curacao. After Dolphin Academy had once again thanked the children for their commitment during the Beach clean-up, the dolphin academy staff participated in a local waltz dance with the children.

Afterwards the tree was planted. Sunday 21ste the celebration took place at Dolphin Academy where we could welcome the 50.000th reservation. Niels and Esther Doornbosch who were on their honeymoon were congratulated at the Dolphin Academy by owners Dutch Schrier and Rudy Pizziolo. Niels and Esther received their booked Dolphin Swim as a gift and the pictures ond movie DVD of their swim was also free. The also received a giftbasket with apparel and other nice things from our giftshop. Dolphin Academy is very honoured to have achieved another milestone and hopes in the coming years to welcome many more people who adore dolphins.
