Festive tree planting

On the 26th of May 2008 the Dolphin Academy Curaçao celebrated its sixth anniversary by means of a Beach Cleanup of the St. Joris Baai. Dolphin Academy was assisted by the children of multiple Curaçao Schools that enthusiastically presented themselves to fulfill their part for a cleaner Curaçao nature.

As gratitude for the great efforts during the Beach Cleanup, Dolphin Academy wanted to thank the first 9 schools that presented themselves in a suitable manner. And what could be better then giving them their own piece of nature; a Mahok tree.

In order to make sure that the young trees could get the best care it was decided to give the new school year a “green” start with the planting of the trees. And these weeks the time had come, the Chispita school, Fatima college, Prinses Margriet school, Schotborgschool, St. Rosa de Lima school, Mgr. Julio Hendriquez , Marnixschool and Romerschool all got a new classmate. Next week it will be the turn of the Glorieux college.

Just as with the clean up, the children enthusiastically assisted with the planting. They promised to take good care of the tree in order to let it grow big and strong. In that way they will be able to enjoy its shade rapidly.

By giving the tree, Dolphin Academy hopes to focus the attention of the children to the importance of a healthy Curaçao Nature. For she, like the tree, will grow big and strong as long as we take good care of her.

Dolphin Academy hereby wants to thank the schools again for their warm welcome and even beautiful gifts and wishes them a lot of success and fun with the trees.
