Dolphin Academy celebrates sixth birthday with the islands children

Despite it being our birthday, we wanted to actually give a gift to the island. Sixty (60) elementary schools received an exiting and educational dolphin game.

The Dolphin Training Game is developed by Dolphin Academy and handles about our dolphins, their diet, their behavior and how they live. That promises much educative fun at school! Should you be interested, the game can still be bought at the Dolphin Academy.

But this was not all, for the 23rd, 24th and 25th of June it was clean up time, Beach Clean Up that is.
This time it was the schools that could give something back to us, namely a clean piece of nature. For three days 10 schools thoroughly cleaned the St. Joris Bay. To make the whole day even more fun the cleaning activities were interchanged with educational games that focused on the environment as well.

All the schools received a game but the first nine school classes that signed in for the Beach Clean Up were treated by Dolphin Academy with an actual piece of nature, a Mahok tree. At the start of the new school year the trees will be festively planted on the school property, challenging the children to also take care of nature themselves. Together with the schools the Dolphin Academy hopes to hereby contribute to a cleaner nature and a environmentally aware youth.

Participating schools: Marnix School, Fatima College, Kolegio Santa Familia, Klein College, Romerschool, Mgr. Julio Henriquez, Prinses Margrietschool, Chispita, Schotborghschool, Glorieux College en Rosa de Lima School.

With many thanks to our sponsors: Curaçao Tourist Board, Hemingway, Té Kui, Firgos, Vreugdenhil, Uniek Curacao and KiteSurfCuracao , for the transport, food, drinks, equipment, volunteering and garbage collection.
