Having survived her first critical month well, the Dolphin Academy is cautiously optimistic about the future of the little one. The survival chances increase further as the baby gets older.
Teresa and her little girl Kayena are doing very well. Mother Teresa is showing good nursing behavior and guides the baby well. Dolphins are mammals and therefore the little one drinks mothers milk, almost 15 liters a day. For this Teresa needs some extra food and eats about 12 kilo’s of Capelin and Herring a day. The baby will nurse up till the age of 2 and will complement this diet with some fish starting form around the age of 6 months. |
